Job Summary
The Service Chief will oversee all non-clinical support functions for our hospital, ensuring efficient, high-quality delivery of services like housekeeping, food service, facilities and maintenance. This role is key to providing an exceptional experience for our patients while enabling our clinical teams to focus on delivering outstanding medical care.

- Provide services to all levels of employees
- Oversee operations/SOPs that support non-cash/card profit centre
- Measure efficacy
- Ensure that changes are working in unison with organisational strategy
- Develops KPI indicators for service execution
- Use best service technologies to enhance established business process
- Develop strategic and operational plans for all non-clinical support services.
- Recruit, train and manage a team of support service professionals.
- Establish policies, workflows and quality standards for each support function.
- Manage vendor/contractor relationships for outsourced services like housekeeping and food service.
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the hospital’s facility, equipment and grounds.
- Manage support service budgets. Drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure support services are fully aligned with clinical operations to deliver seamless patient care.
- Foster a customer-service mindset and collaborative culture within the support teams.
- Drive continuous improvement of service quality, efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulations and accreditation standards.
- Perform other administrative duties as and when required.
- And to perform other duties that may be assigned by management from time to time.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare management or related field. Masters preferred.
- 10+ years experience in healthcare support service leadership roles.
- Deep knowledge of healthcare support service operations and best practices.
- Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate effective support service teams.
- Process improvement mindset. Able to assess, design and implement efficient workflows.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to partner effectively with clinical leaders.
- Tireless commitment to service excellence and enhancing the patient experience.
- Effective communication skills with a good command of the English language, both written and oral.
- Excellent customer service skills are necessary, along with the ability to create and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers.
- Ability to adapt to change and implement change initiatives.
- Must be eloquent and exude confidence.
