Orlu, Imo State. Orlu United Medical Centre opened its doors in January 2025 with a clear promise to deliver safe, modern, compassionate care to families in our community. This week, we reached a special milestone. Our clinical team completed the hospital’s first childbirth, a successful Caesarean section, and both mother and baby are doing well. The family has chosen to remain anonymous as they enjoy these first precious days.
This success reflects careful preparation, rehearsed protocols, and the quiet confidence of a team that trains together and works as one. Surgeons, anesthesia, midwives, nurses, pediatric support, and theatre staff coordinated care from admission to recovery. Equipment, supplies, and checklists were in place. Most importantly, the mother was cared for with dignity and calm at every step.
Today we celebrate a safe delivery, a healthy mother, and a healthy child. Our team worked with skill and kindness, and we give thanks to God for this outcome. OUMC exists to serve families in Orlu and beyond, and this milestone strengthens our commitment to consistent, high-quality care.
