Job Summary

The Medical Center Director will be responsible for overseeing all clinical and administrative operations of our new state-of-the-art hospital. This role is critical in establishing the strategic direction, implementing policies and procedures, and fostering a culture of clinical excellence and compassionate patient care as we prepare to launch this facility and begin serving the community.

 

Job Description

  1. Develop the overall strategic plan and objectives for the hospital in alignment with the mission and values.
  2. Oversee the planning, design and construction phases to ensure our new hospital is built and equipped to the highest standards.
  3. Recruit and build a talented team of clinical and administrative leaders to operate the hospital.
  4. Establish the policies, procedures, systems and governance structure for the hospital operations.
  5. Manage the hospital’s financial performance, including developing budgets, monitoring revenue and expenses, and driving strong fiscal stewardship.
  6. Ensure the hospital maintains full compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, accreditation requirements and quality standards.
  7. Foster a culture of patient-centred care, service excellence, teamwork and continuous improvement.
  8. Serve as the face of the hospital, building strong relationships with the community, government agencies, and other healthcare partners.
  9. Keep abreast of advances in healthcare administration and introduce innovative solutions to enhance hospital performance.
  10. Provide ongoing leadership, direction and support to the hospital leadership team and all staff.

 

Job Requirements

  1. Effective communication skills with a good command of the English language, both written and oral.
  2. Excellent customer service skills are necessary, along with the ability to create and maintain effective relationships with external customers.
  3. Ability to adapt to change and implement change initiatives.
  4. Must be eloquent and exude confidence.
  5. An advanced degree (Masters or above) in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field.

  6. Minimum 15 years of experience in a senior leadership role within a large hospital or health system

  7. Demonstrated track record of successfully leading the launch or major expansion of a hospital.

  8. In-depth knowledge of healthcare operations, finance, regulations, quality and safety best practices.

  9. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to recruit top talent and foster a high-performing culture.

  10. Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills to engage a wide range of stakeholders.

  11. Strategic thinker with the vision and business acumen to position the hospital for long-term success.

  12. Must have required licensure to practice in Nigeria.
