Job Summary

The HR Manager will be instrumental in shaping the culture and workforce of OUMC. This strategic role will lead all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and learning and development. The HR Manager will ensure we build a talented, engaged team to deliver exceptional patient care.

 

Job Description

  1. Develop and execute the HR strategy and initiatives to support the hospital’s mission and goals.
  2. Manage the end-to-end talent acquisition process, from workforce planning through onboarding.
  3. Partner with leaders to understand hiring needs, develop job descriptions and recruit top talent.
  4. Develop and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain staff.
  5. Design and implement performance management processes, including goal-setting and reviews.
  6. Coach and advise managers on employee relations issues. Conduct investigations as needed.
  7. Ensure compliance with all labor laws and regulations. Maintain employee handbook and policies.
  8. Lead employee engagement and retention initiatives. Foster a positive, inclusive work culture.
  9. Oversee the learning and development function, including orientation, training and leadership development.
  10. Manage the HR information system and employee records. Analyze HR data to drive decisions.
  11. Perform other administrative duties as and when required.
  12. And to perform other duties that may be assigned by management from time to time.

 

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. Masters preferred.
  2. 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  3. Proven track record of building HR functions and teams from the ground up.
  4. Deep expertise in all core HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, learning and development, and HR compliance.
  5. Knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and regulations is a must.
  6. Exceptional leadership and coaching skills. Able to influence and partner with all levels of the organization.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to analyze data and trends to inform HR strategies.
  8. Excellent communicator and relationship-builder. Able to foster trust and credibility with diverse stakeholders.
  9. Adept at navigating complex, sensitive employee situations with discretion and empathy.
  10. HRCI or SHRM certification strongly preferred.
  11. Ability to adapt to change and implement change initiatives.
  12. Must be eloquent and exude confidence.
